Only 15 miles north you will find Alton, Missouri, home of Greer Spring which is also one of the world's largest springs. The spring fed, National Wild and Scenic Eleven Point River provides plenty of recreational opportunities. A trophy trout area, canoeing and jon boating, combined with a near wilderness experience make this a one of the best rivers in the Ozark region. Alton and neighboring Oregon County are home to the largest section of Mark Twain National Forest in Missouri. It provides thousands of acres to hunt its abundant deer and turkey. It is also home to miles of hiking trails and Missouri's largest designated wilderness. If you are a fan of traditional bluegrass music there are several theatres in the area. There are also numerous antique stores in our area. Come visit us and stay a while.
