Kids' Hoop Shoot

The Local Hoop Shoot will be held December 01st at the Centralia High School Gymnasium, starting with registration at 8:00 am and shooting at 9:00 am. All volunteers will be greatly appreciated and needed.

2010 Chairman: Bo Dersch

The Local Hoop Shoot was held Saturday, December 12th 2009 at the Centralia High School Gymnasium. All participants at the High School that morning were given a Tee-Shirt and all winners received a trophy. There were 360 Girls and 391 Boys who participated in the Hoop Shoot and previous Hoop Shoots at the local Schools. The Elks had 32 volunteers that helped that morning, including 6 boys from the High School Basketball Team. Thanks to all the volunteers who helped.

The First Place winners will go on to the District Hoop Shoot January 09th 2010 at Fairfield High School starting at 9:00 am. District winners from there will go on to the State Hoop Shoot in Decatur at McArthur High School on February 12 & 13th. Congratulations to you all and Good Luck at District!

District Shoot 2010

The District Hoop Shoot was held Saturday, January 09th 2010 at the Fairfield High School. Centralia sent 6 Kids to Fairfield from their Local Shoot in December. In the 10-11 Year Old Girls division Centralia's Christonia Sadler shot 19 of 25 in 3 sets and took home the 1st place trophy. Congratulations Christonia! She will move on and represent Centralia and the South Central District at the State Competition in Decatur February 12th & 13th. Good Luck at State!

State Shoot 2010

The State Hoop Shoot was held in Decatur February 12th & 13th 2010. From Centralia in the 10-11 Year Old Girls division was Christonia Sadler, who got there by shooting 19 of 25 at the District. CONGRATULATIONS Christonia! She won 1st place in her division and now will go on to the North Central Region 3 National Hoop Shoot Semi Final held in Iowa City, IA on March 13th. The winners from that Region will go on to the National Hoop Shoot Finals to be held in Springfield, MA on April 22nd through April 25th. I am not quite sure that I can recall the last National Finalist from Centralia, Christonia has made all Elks proud. Other South Central District winners and advancing to Nationals are 8-9 Year Old Boys Brent Hatten Olney Lodge #926, and 12-13 Year Old Girls Tyra Buss Mt. Carmel Lodge #715. The District also had a couple of 2nd and 3rd place finishers. Again, Congratulations to all and GOOD LUCK at Nationals.

National Region 3 Shoot 2010

The North Central Region 3 National Hoop Shoot Semi Final was held in Iowa City, IA on March 13th 2010. Representing Centralia Lodge #493 from Sandoval in the 10-11 Year Old Girls division was Christonia Sadler and she took a close second place, shooting 16 of 25. The last National Finalist from Centralia was Travis Scheriger in the mid 90's and Christonia has made all Centralia Elks proud once again. Thank you & Congratulations Christonia.
Also representing the South Central District from Mt. Carmel Lodge #715 in the 12-13 Year Old Girls was Tyra Buss and she will go on to the National Hoop Shoot Finals to be held in Springfield, MA on April 22nd through April 25th by winning her division shooting 25 of 25. GOOD LUCK at Nationals Tyra.

National Finals 2010

Representing the South Central District from Mt. Carmel Lodge #715 in the 12-13 Year Old Girls was Tyra Buss at the National Hoop Shoot Finals in Springfield, MA on April 22nd through April 25th 2010. Tyra took 9th place in her division by shooting 17 of 25. Congratulations Tyra!
