Officer/Trustee Corner

A Message from Exalted Ruler, Dave Rudder

On behalf of all the 2026 – 2027 Officers and Trustees, I would like to thank the membership for the confidence and trust you have placed in us. As we celebrate our 130th year of Elkdom, we promise to work diligently, and to the best of our abilities, to restore the tradition of excellence built by the many members who have preceded us.

The motto I’ve chosen this year is “One Voice.” Over time, the membership of our lodge has sometimes become divided and, at times, strongly disagreed with one another. But, as Prescott Elks, we are guided by the higher and nobler charities of thought word and deed. By focusing on these specific values, I believe we can find ways to set aside our personal differences and work together for the good of all the others that we try to help.

In my mind, this is our "E Pluribus Unum" moment. Out of many, one. It is my plan to lead us to that place where we can all sing from the same songbook. Think of it like being in the same boat and everyone is rowing in the same direction. It is my hope that each of us will check our own compass to ensure the things that we say and the things that we do help us to reach that goal. One Voice.

I hope you take a moment to look inward to recall why you wanted to become an Elk. Maybe it was the social aspects of the lodge? Or maybe it was the chance to help others along their way and give back to the community. In my view, we are really blessed to have two kinds of members. Volunteers and “Knife and Forkers”.  Volunteers make activities possible. It could be something as simple as helping to decorate the lodge for an event, greeting people at the door, help with our fabulous kitchen, work with our photo committee or assist our Americanism and Youth Activities committees. “Knife and Forkers” also play an important role here. These members bring friends and family to the lodge for dinner, attend Bar Bingo, and support our events. Their participation helps keep our lodge active and welcoming. The underlying message is that each of you are a valued member of this lodge, and your lodge needs all of you.

I would like to offer a special thank you to PER Walt Campbell, his beloved wife Linda, and his entire team of officers. Their hard work and dedication to service has kept our lodge strong during the past year.

As the retiring Editor of our newsletter, I must thank Lynne Reuter for all her hard work for (more than) the past 2 years. She has kindly agreed to help with the transition to our new Editor, your First Lady, Debbie Rudder. Please be sure to thank Lynne when you see her at the lodge.

Inside the Elks Tales newsletter, you can find a list of all our lodge committees and their chairpersons. I’d like you to take a moment to look through the list and see if there is an activity or an event that interests you. If you find something that you would like to help with, we encourage you to step forward and share your time and your ideas. I can promise that every offer, no matter how

 small, is appreciated.

Remember, this lodge belongs to all of us. By working together, and helping where we can, we’re heading into the new-year stronger than ever – speaking and working together with One Voice.

Fraternally yours,

Dave Rudder

Exalted Ruler 2026 – 2027

Greeter Committee Forming:

A warm, friendly welcome sets the tone for everything that follows at our Elks Lodge. When guests are greeted by smiling, upbeat members, it immediately creates a sense of belonging and community. People are far more likely to relax, stay longer, and return again when they feel genuinely welcomed. A positive first impression reflects the values of our Lodge — charity, fellowship, and hospitality — and helps strengthen connections among members while also encouraging new visitors to become part of our Elk family. Simply put, a cheerful greeting at the door can turn an ordinary visit into a memorable experience.

To help us build this welcoming atmosphere, we’re looking for volunteers to form a Greeter Committee for Wednesday and Friday evenings from 4:30 to 7:00 PM. This is a simple but meaningful way to contribute—offering a smile, saying hello, and helping guests feel at home. If you enjoy meeting people and want to play a role in enhancing the spirit of our Lodge, we would love to have you join us. Together, we can make every visit a warm and inviting experience from the moment our guests walk through the door. Interested? Drop an email to Dave330ER@gmail.com

A Message from Secretary, Teresa Miller

A new Lodge year is here, and I have been busy collecting dues and sending out member cards. If you have not paid your dues, please call the office and we can take your card over the phone, or you can mail your membership dues in. As of April 1st, your yellow cards will no longer be valid.

The craft show will be held on April 10th and 11th. This show is a great fundraiser for the Lodge. The crafters pay $40 for their table. We also have a bake sale and a lunch for sale. Uniquely created crafts are donated by their artists, uand we sell raffle tickets for a chance to win these items. All the money from table sales, bake sale, lunch andk raffle are 100% profit to the Lodge. In 2025, the craft show profited over $12,000 that was distributed among the charities we support. Please stop in and shop the craft show, buy lunch, a few baked items and support this event.

I attended the state Social Welfare meeting in March. The Social Welfare committee is looking for organizations that are in need of money. The organization must write a request letter on their letterhead (please be sure to include a phone number). The requesting organization can NOT receive United Way money. At the convention in May, the committee will decide what organization will receive money. Please get those letters in to, Gus Noble, 3302 E Utopia Road, Phoenix, AZ 85050-3928, as soon as possible.

House Committee Calls

Over the past month, the House Committee and Trustees have been working together to identify several items the club needs, and we are happy to report that a lot has been accomplished. With the help of our volunteers and staff, we continue to make improvements to keep our lodge running smoothly and looking its best. We have recently acquired a new steam table for the kitchen, which will help improve food service during busy nights and special events. The carpets throughout the club have also been professionally cleaned, giving the lodge a fresh look. In addition, the kitchen hoods & filters have been thoroughly cleaned and placed on a regular maintenance schedule to keep everything safe, clean, and up to standard. We also had a drop-in visit from the Yavapai County Health Department, and we are proud to report that both the bar and the kitchen passed inspection. In the coming weeks, you may notice a few of us working in the bar area as we install a new dartboard lane and backdrop. This should be a great addition and give members another fun activity to enjoy while spending time at the lodge. We are also investigating the possibility of setting up a regular game night, possibly after Queen of Hearts on Wednesday evenings. We hope this will give members another reason to stay, relax, and enjoy the club together. The bar and the kitchen are both doing well with income and expenditures, and we would like to thank everyone who continues to come in and support the lodge. Your participation truly makes a difference. As we move forward this Elk year, let us remember the cardinal principles that guide our Order — Charity, Justice, Brotherly Love, and Fidelity — and continue working together to make our lodge the best it can be. Let’s make this Elk year the best ever.

Respectfully submitted,

Steve Saitman - Chairman of the House committee.

Trustee’s Corner

Your Elks 330 Trustee happenings for March 2026: The 5 Trustee’s and several other volunteers spent Saturday Morning March 7th doing a long awaited physical inventory of our lodge. This means counting EVERYTHING in the lodge from silverware to photos on the wall and anything that can be moved. Last inventory was in 2022 and we have gained so many items to make the lodge more fun for all. We only had 2 big TVs, now we have a big TV in the FOD room, Dining Room and 3 big TVs in the bar area for bar bingo and other events. Also, the smaller TVs to use for announcements. The new tables and chairs were also included in the new inventory. We plan on updating a maintenance schedule based on the equipment in the kitchen and other areas of the lodge as well.
