Introducing the Service Scorecard

Since 2016, during the Hoop Shoot National Finals, National Finalists and their families come together for Hoop Shoot Assists, an evening of service and community. Due to the pandemic, the world calls for a new form of engagement for past, present and future Hoop Shooters—one in which we don’t have to be together to make a difference.

Introducing the Service Scorecard! This new virtual Hoop Shoot opportunity launches on October 6. The Service Scorecard combines the Elks spirit of volunteerism, gritty kids and fun!

Each month will feature a new theme and a set of 10 corresponding projects that vary in degrees of difficulty and time commitment. The theme will be announced on the first #TrueGritTuesday of every month on the brand-new YouTube show, Hoop Shooting the Breeze. Youth Programs Associate Makenna Cannon hosts the show, and she’ll be joined by a special Hoop Shoot guest in every episode. Learn the theme for October by tuning in to the first episode on Tuesday, October 6.

We’re calling on past, present and future Hoop Shooters, Elks, and gritty kids everywhere to get involved! Participants need to complete at least five of the projects and upload their card for a chance to win a monthly prize—a $100 donation to the charity of their choice. Participants should only take on service projects if it is safe to do so, and they should follow all public health mandates, wear a mask and follow social distancing.

You’ll be able to keep up with the Service Scorecard on social media with #HoopShootServes. We’ll be featuring participants who submit their Scorecard with the Hoop Shoot community.
