Featured Director - Ron Dickson, North Carolina

Ron Dickson understands the importance of giving youth a healthy start—that’s why he supports the Hoop Shoot! Dickson, a member of Greensboro, N.C., Lodge No. 602, has served as his state’s Hoop Shoot Director for 11 years.

“It’s a real pleasure to work with a program that provides children with a positive, character-building activity,” says Dickson. “The lessons learned from participating in the Hoop Shoot serve kids for the rest of their life.”

Not Just Hoops

When he’s not working with the Hoop Shoot, Dickson enjoys spending time at his local YMCA and volunteering with his Lodge’s veterans’ programs—another of his passions.

Proud to be an Elk

This is Dickson’s 25th year as a member of the Greensboro Lodge and he is still honored to call himself an Elk.

“I am proud to be an Elk because the Elks are about giving back to the community,” explains Dickson. “As a member, I have the perfect opportunity to do just that.”
