General ENF Questions

Q. Have you received my check in the mail?

Unfortunately, due to the volume of mail and our processing procedure, we aren’t able to verify receipt of donations until they are fully processed. The best way to verify that we received your donation is to confirm that the check has cleared your bank—we deposit all checks within 48 hours of receiving them.

Q. How long does it take the ENF to process my donation?

From the date we receive them in our office, donations typically take up to two weeks to process. You’ll see your Lodge’s per-member-giving total updated on the ENF Reports and Standings—which is updated every Friday.

Q. When will my donation appear on my personal giving history?

We update your Online Personal Giving History once per month. The update process takes close to 48 hours. Your Personal Giving History will reflect all of your personal gifts through the past month.

Q. What is the GER’s Per-Member Giving goal?

The Per-Member-Giving goal,is set every July by the newly elected Grand Exalted Ruler. To find out this year’s goal visit the ENF Reports and Standings.

Q. Why is my Lodge's membership total on the ENF reports different than in our current records?

The Elks National Foundation receives Lodge membership totals from the Grand Lodge once every year, typically in mid-June. This number is based on the April 1 total, beginning each fiscal year. We understand that there are dropped, new or deceased members in each Lodge, but as we are given the membership total once a year, they are not subject to updates. Per-member giving totals are based on this number, annually.

Q. When is the Per-Member-Giving Report Updated?

The Per-Member-Giving Report is updated once a week, on Friday. If the ENF office will be closed at the end of the week, the Per-Member-Giving Report will be updated before then.

Q. What does it mean to designate a gift?

--->

A designated gift directly supports the ENF program you select, helping build stronger Elks communities today. You can choose to designate your gift to one program or select all programs and make an immediate difference in the lives of youth, veterans and Elks communities. Watch ENF Director Jim O’Kelley explain how gift designations work.

Q. Does the ENF only spend the principal interest of its Endowment Fund?

No, every year the ENF determines its budget, not by the interest of the Endowment Fund, but by the needs and growth of its programs. See how ENF funds are being allocated this year.

Q. How do I find out more about ENF Scholarships?

To learn about ENF Scholarships, click here. If you still have questions, please contact the ENF Scholarship Department at Scholarship@elks.org or 773/755-4732.

Q. How do I find out more about the ENF Community Investments Program?

To learn about the Community Investments Program grants, click here. If you still have questions, please contact the ENF CIP grants Department at ENFPrograms@elks.org or 773/755-4730.

Q. I want to donate to the ENF. Who should I make the check out to?

All checks for the Elks National Foundation must be made out to the Elks National Foundation. Just like you can’t cash a check addressed to your neighbor, we cannot deposit a check that is made out to the B.P.O.E., Elks Grand Lodge or an individual Lodge. Checks need to be made payable to the Elks National Foundation or ENF.

Q. Now that I have my check ready, where should I send it?

The ENF’s mailing address is:

Elks National Foundation
2750 N Lakeview Ave
Chicago, IL 60614-2256

Questions for ENF Fundraising Chairs Only

Q. Why can’t I access the online reports?

The reason that you do not have access to the online reports is because you are not currently registered as ENF Fundraising Chair. Though you may be noted in CLMS as an ENF Fundraising Chair, you need to register with the ENF before having full access. Every Chair must do this, every year.

Q. How do I register as ENF Fundraising Chair?

You’ll find the ENF Fundraising Chair registration link in a gray box on the right of the Quick Links on the ENF Fundraising Chair Dashboard. After you register, you should have access to the online reports in two to four business days.

Q. How can I find out who is registered as ENF Fundraising Chair for my Lodge?

Visit the Chair Challenge standings page and click on your Lodge to view your Lodge's registered ENF Fundraising Chair.

Q. Who is our State ENF Fundraising Chair?

You'll find a list of this year's State ENF Fundraising Chairs by clicking here.

Q. When are the Record of Donations and History of Donations reports updated?

The Record of Donations and History of Donations Reports are updated once a month, within the first five business days of the month. The updates will reflect all gifts given through the past month.

Q. Why do the reports not show deceased or inactive members?

  • The online reports are intended to provide a record of donors in your Lodge who are likely to give to the ENF again and may engage the ENF Fundraising Chair with questions about their personal giving. Deceased and inactive members do not fit this criteria.

  • With more than 1,000,000 donor records in our database from nearly 2,000 Lodges, at times our online reports may take more than 24 hours to update. Therefore, we only update these reports monthly and exclude inactive and deceased donors to provide accurate information in the best, most efficient way possible.

Q. What if there are deceased members or non-members on my reports?

The Elks National Foundation relies on ENF Fundraising Chairs to help us keep accurate records. If you are aware of a situation in your Lodge, such as a death, name or address change, or drop of membership, please inform us at fundraising@elks.org or 773/755-4762. Your reports will reflect the new information when they are updated at the close of the month.

Q. How do I submit donations to the Elks National Foundation?

There are a variety of ways to submit donations to the ENF. Click here to view forms for submitting donations.

Q. How do I find out more information about my role as ENF Fundraising Chair?

You can learn about all of the duties and responsibilities of an ENF Fundraising Chair on the ENF Fundraising Chair Dashboard.

Q. What is the criteria to earn my ENF Fundraising Chair Leadership Pin?

  • Participation in the Leadership Challenge with a donation of any amount, to the ENF this fiscal year.

  • Earning an ENF Fundraising Chair Certificate through registering as Chair.

  • Reaching 550 points or more in Chair Challenge in your Lodge. District and State ENF Fundraising Chairs criteria is to exceed last year's composite score average.
