My Brethren Elk,
November passed by in a blur. It is always so busy at the lodge. We made it through all of our District Deputy visits. It was great to see all of the other lodges and to spend some quality time learning about them. It’s always so interesting to see how differently all of the Elks Lodges accomplish so many of the same duties. We were also very fortunate to host a dinner for our State President, Brian Greene. The meal was great and the company better. We had a nice time.
As you all know Tom and Jerry's night was the traditional party of the year, just one more reason it’s always great to be an Elk!
We were lucky enough to do another Saturday initiation to welcome our newest members into our lodge. Many thanks to the officers who came out on a Saturday morning to make that happen.
Chef Shannon has been turning out phenomenal Friday night dinners with amazing gourmet desserts. Not to mention, our Thursday night pizza and wings along with the Friday night dinners have completely turned around. Come on out, show your support and be wowed by a meal to brag about.
December first is our annual memorial service. It is a very important time for our lodge to remember those we have lost. I hope many of you will join us, for that service is very near and dear to our hearts.
Don’t forget, on December 4th we have our annual venison feed which is a night our membership looks forward to every year. Deepest gratitude to the many volunteers who help with that.
Please mark your calendars for December 19th. The Annual Children's Christmas Party. Also, on December 21st. We could use all the help we can get for the annual hoop shoot. Consider getting involved and doing something nice for the kids.
Finally, there is only one meeting during the month, December 18th, which will be combined with initiation and the monthly steak feed. So many things to do and only have to give up one night of your week.
As you can see, December looks to be super busy once again as we start off the Christmas season. We hope that you can get involved with the lodge. You get out of Elkdom so much more than you put into it! Just pick one event and see how much fun it is to get together with fellow Elks for a common cause.
Thanks again to everyone who makes our lodge the place to be!
Fraternally yours,
ER Terry
