FREE Home Maintenance and Repair Assistance Program
South Kingstown Elks Lodge 1899 has established a Free Home Maintenance and Repair Assistance Program (HoMRAP) to assist families and individuals in South Kingstown and the surrounding area whose homes are in disrepair and/or not maintained and who do not have the resources or physical capacity to address the problem areas. This often results in hardship and unsafe conditions that could be hazardous to the home owner. HoMRAP’s mission is to identify those property owners in need in our community and provide resources to perform routine maintenance and repair assistance at no cost. This assistance includes activities such as yard maintenance/clean-up, minor painting tasks and minor household repairs. Because of the nature of the work, it is anticipated that the majority of the projects will be performed in the spring through fall timeframe.
The HoMRAP committee has 52 completed projects including construction and installation of two wheel chair ramps for local residents.
