3/25/2025 Ohio River Valley, OH Lodge No: 231

used its Beacon Grant for two projects aimed at relieving hunger in its community, specifically child hunger. The Lodge provided backpacks and weekend snacks for elementary and middle school students who rely on the food they receive at school. The Lodge also ran a weekly after-school cooking class where students learned simple, well-balanced recipes and ate the meals they prepared together; any leftovers were packed up and brought home. As part of the class, the students prepared a Thanksgiving dinner for their families to enjoy. Lodge members served the food and were invited by the families to join in the meal.

3/25/2025 Moreno Valley, CA Lodge No: 2697

used its Gratitude Grant to support the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House. The Lodge provided essential supplies and upkeep for the home, getting great deals through strong relationships with suppliers. Lodge members even brought in home-cooked food, something that the families, living away from their own homes, greatly appreciated.

The Elks National Foundation allocated nearly $16 million this year to fund the Community Investments Program. Lodges meet local needs through grants that offer Elks opportunities to serve their community in ways that will raise the Lodge's profile, energize the membership, encourage former members to return to the fold, and gain the notice of people who want to be part of an organization that's doing great things.
