9/2/2025 North Ft Myers, FL Lodge No: 2742

uses its Beacon Grant to support children experiencing trauma and grief through two projects. The Lodge works with Healing Stitches, a group that works with children and their mothers who are survivors of domestic violence to process their feelings through needlework. In addition to providing raw materials for the sewing classes, Lodge members with experience help teach. The Lodge also provides computers to assist with administrative tasks for the organization and to teach computer skills to the children. For its second project, the Lodge works with a bereavement group called Valerie's House. The Lodge provides monthly supplies and dinners for the partner organization’s group activities.

The Elks National Foundation allocated nearly $16 million this year to fund the Community Investments Program. Lodges meet local needs through grants that offer Elks opportunities to serve their community in ways that will raise the Lodge's profile, energize the membership, encourage former members to return to the fold, and gain the notice of people who want to be part of an organization that's doing great things. To learn more about the Community Investments Program, please visit elks.org/CIP. If you would like to speak to someone in the CIP office, we can be reached at 773-755-4730.
