The Elks Family Continues to Grow!
We are pleased to introduce Maryann Slater as the first Elks Scholar Fellow! The Elks Scholar Fellow—a position just for an Elks scholar alum—will be responsible for promoting, organizing and leading three Elks Scholar Service Trips throughout the year. These service trips will offer Elks scholars a chance to get to know other Elks scholars, serve a local community in the name of the Elks, and learn more about the Elks family. The summer trip is set to launch in August 2015. Details and application information are coming soon!

Maryann is a 2011 Legacy scholar, the Elks Scholar Advisory Board President, and a member of Metuchen, N.J, Lodge No. 1914. Throw in her experience leading alternative Spring Break trips at Rutgers University and her dedication to the Elks Family, and she’s a perfect fit for the Fellowship. After she graduates from Rutgers in May, Maryann will join the Elks National Foundation staff in Chicago for two years. She looks forward to facilitating relationships between Elks scholars and strengthening their bonds with the Elks family through service.

“I am so honored to have the opportunity to pilot this new program that will bring Elks scholars together through service,” says Maryann. “I am looking forward to meeting Elks scholars from all over the country while taking on a position that intersects my passions for service and making personal connections with my Elks family!”

Join us in welcoming Maryann aboard!
