Newsletter MAY & JUNE 2022
Hello All!
Recap of April,
The Fireman’s Ball was great with an exceptional group of Good people, It was our pleasure.
Our meeting at Tipton Elks was very interesting and informative. Bryan Rawdling was clear and precise in all our duties as Elks. I felt good that we are on the right track.
The Easter Party was nice, there were 15 kids who had a ball. Whitney, Ashley and Tammy did a fun party for the kids. There were crafts to do and bowling. The Easter Bunny showed up and took pictures with the kids. Afterwards the kids went out and hunted the eggs left by the Bunny. Some eggs had candy some had money. Everyone enjoyed Pizza and chips, cookies and Joe and Sue bought ice Cream. Thanks to all of you for doing what you do.
We had Initiation on the 21st bringing in new Member Tom Weekly, Welcome.
We met our per-capita last year, so it is about time to decide what we want to apply for this year as far as who we want to give the $2,000 to. We usually give money to the food bank in Dunkirk and Albany, the Dunkirk library, the Little league, and the animal shelter. We will vote the 2nd meeting in May so come and be a part of it, also if you are not a member of ENF (Elks National Foundation) you should be, the help given to others by this foundation is AMAZING. Go to Elks.org.
May 7th, MARK your Calendars, Breakfast at the Elks 8am to 10am. Biscuits and Gravy, Pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage patties, orange juice, milk and coffee. All you can eat $8.50. Please join us before you start your day. The evening will be eventful with the drawing for the Fishers Meat Package ($200) value. The proceeds from the meat package will be given to the Cancer Research at IU and Purdue University’s. We should be proud of the sharing and giving we are able to do, ELKS CARE ELKS SHARE. Dunkirk Elks ROCK!
May 14th Dining room is rented to Dunkirk Alumni most of the day and all evening. This is also our Monthly Drawing at 7pm, a little over $1,000. We will be cooking off the grill or have something if you are hungry.
May 21st is Awards Night, YOU MUST HAVE RESERVATIONS in by May 10th if you want to eat. Since the officers are the cooks, no one will be cooking. We will eat between 5pm and 6pm. The bar will be open.
As this Club- Lodge continues to grow we would love your input on what you like to do. We work hard to make money so that we can donate and help others. We should do something for ourselves. Anyone want a tournament of Corn Hole?
In closing, come in and see what is going on as we are starting another gun raffle. See Barry Barger, Jon Reed or Bob Ford.
Enjoy your summer and be kind to everyone you meet, smiles are free.
Vicky S. May ER
