From One Scout to Another

Brunswick, Ga., Lodge No. 691 used its Gratitude Grant to lend a hand to some local scouts. Elks contacted scout troops that were enthusiastic about experiencing the great outdoors, but lacked the supplies to match. The Lodge used grant funds to purchase tents, cooking gear and other camping equipment for two local troops.

The scouts came to the Lodge to thank the Elks and test out their new equipment. “Many thanks to the ENF for giving Brunswick Lodge the opportunity to apply for a Gratitude Grant,” said Exalted Ruler Ed Abel, who 60 years ago was a member of one of the scout troops. “Community Investments Program grants are a great idea, and are really going to help our Lodge’s community image.”
