Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award

Annually, the Exalted Ruler selects a citizen who has contributed in a special way to improving the local community.  The 2022-2023 'Elks Distinguished Citizenship Award' is presented to Maggie Fronk for her outstanding and meritorious service to humanity by Saratoga-Wilton #161 and the Grand Lodge.  Maggie has dedicated her entire working life to helping others and has been providing domestic violence and sexual assault services to Saratoga County for 21 years as the Executive Director of Wellspring. She previously worked in the realms of AIDS, mental illness and homelessness. Under Maggie's innovative leadership, Wellspring opened a new mission-based Malta facility that offers a 24/7 hotline, counseling, legal advocacy, emergency shelter, accompaniment to police stations, on-site food pantry, host of programs to educate community members about how to combat and prevent relationship and sexual abuse, including Men With Wellspring and more.  All services are free and confidential. Wellspring is also our Lodge's ENF Impact Grant Partner.  Pictured are (from left) Maggie Fronk and Past Exalted Ruler Dora Lee Stanley.
