B.P.O. Elks 374 House Rules
1. The privileges of the club, which are made possible only by the lodge itself, are only for Elks in good Standing, who are members of Fort Madison, la Lodge 374.
2.The club is under direct supervision of the House committee, which is the, Board of Trustees, who may designate certain responsibilities to the Assistant Manager, in reference to the day to day operation of the club.
3. The club will be open from 4 PM to 9 PM Monday through Thursday; 4:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Fridays and 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM on Saturdays, and other times at the discretion of the House Committee, which may include some Sundays between the hours of 2:00 PM and 8:00 PM. The club may be closed during inclement weather or other circumstances by the discretion of the House Committee.
4. Members in good standing of Fort Madison Lodge #374 may bring in 2 guests, who are residents of towns with Zip Codes assigned to the jurisdiction of this Lodge, a maximum of twice in any calendar year. The member bringing in these guests will be responsible for the conduct and or the deportment of these guests.
5. Members in good Standing of Fort Madison Lodge #374 may bring into the club facilities non-member guests, who are not residents of the Zip Code area assigned to this lodge, at any time the club facilities are in operation. The member will be responsible for the conduct and or deportment of the non-member guests.
6. Members of other Lodges may bring into the club facilities a maximum of 2 non-member guests at any time the club is in operation for a maximum of 2 times in a calendar year.
7.Members of Fort Madison Iowa Lodge #374 and other lodges whose member dues are not current will not be permitted to use the club facilities at any time or attend any social functions conducted by the lodge, ,while their dues are in arrears.
8. The Back- bar area is designated for the benefit of the members of Fort Madison Lodge #374 and therefore cannot be made available for private functions. The back- bar may be made available for private functions as long as members are not excluded from using this area. The Elkove may be used for private functions at the discretion of the House Committee as long as all parts of the rental agreement, provided for in this case, are agreed to by all parties.
9. Credit may be extended to members in good standing of Fort Madison Lodge #374 to purchase merchandise from this club, provided the maximum does not exceed $50.00 and is paid within 15 days of said credit purchase.
IO. An unescourted date is not permitted in the club facility at any time. A spouse or escorted date is welcome in the club facilities at any time during its regular hours of operation, except during the hours of regular lodge meeting or any other special called lodge meetings.
11. Any member in good standing may bring a date into the club facilities at any time subject to the provisions of rule 4. The guest must leave the club facility if the escort member leaves. The member will be responsible for the conduct and or deportment of said visitors.
12. Identification cards for the use of the club facility privileges will be issued by the Lodge Secretary, in accordance with Grand Lodge Statutes 14.140, at the written request of said member in good standing. Said member will be held accountable for the conduct of said card holder while they are using the club facilities.
13. Members and their guests shall at all times conduct themselves in a gentlemanly and ladylike manner. Ungentlemanly or unladylike decorum, or indecent conduct or the use of profane, boisterous, or indecent language in the club facilities is strictly prohibited. Violation of this rule may subject the member to disciplinary action by the governing body of the lodge.
14 All members and guests are required to dress in appropriate attire in all areas of the lodge. Appropriate attire for members and guests will include shirts with sleeves, shoes and slacks or jeans. Appropriate shorts will be permitted if the occasion permits.
15. Any type of sexual descrimination is strictly forbidden by any member, guest or employee of Fort Madison Ia lodge #374.
16. Observance of these rules will make our club facilities a place of enjoyment and pride for all our members and their guests. Your cooperation in observing and enforcing these rules is solicited and expected.d
