Eight years ago, Tom “Tex” Tracy, was invited to Wheaton Elks Lodge No. 2258, by his girlfriend, Pam Turner. “I was hooked right away so I joined the Lodge and have been an active member ever since.”

Tex has served as ER, Leading Knight and as a Trustee. He has been the ENF Fundraising Chair the past five years. Tex has chaired the Hoop Shoot, Drug Awareness and Veterans Service Committees. He helps out each year at the Soccer Shoot and cooks at outdoor events.

The few times Tex does put his feet up, he enjoys watching sports. Tex’s favorite team is the Chicago Cubs. Go Cubs!

Tex is a Vietnam Veteran who has been awarded the Purple Heart twice. While serving in the Army he was responsible for bomb disposal. Needless to say, Tex is a guy who truly exemplifies Grit!
