Overview

Lodge Assistance Grants allow Lodges to secure donations from foundations or corporations for specific Lodge charitable projects through restricted monetary donations to the ENF. With this opportunity, the Foundation extends the benefits of our charitable status to both the foundation or corporation, and the Lodge.

Rules and Restrictions

  • Must be a monetary donation of at least $500 from foundations or corporations that have no written policies restricting donations to only 501(c)(3) organizations.

  • Donations from individuals or businesses that are not corporations do not qualify.

  • Donations received through the Lodge Assistance Grant program do not count toward recognition levels or for determining the Lodge's per-member-giving goal.

  • Employee volunteer hour matching programs do not qualify, please contact our Donor Services Department for information on these types of programs.

  • Funds may not be used to donate to other organizations, to repair, build or renovate Lodge buildings or to benefit only Elks and their families.

  • Contact the Lodge Grants Office for guidelines and to receive the LAG application. To ensure compliance, discuss the application with the ENF before applying.

Step 2: Once the Lodge receives the grant or donated funds from the organization, mail in the check along with the completed Lodge Assistance Grant application form and a letter from the organization (on official letterhead) detailing their intentions for the donated funds and their policy of donating only to 501c3 organizations.

Step 3: If the application qualifies and is fully completed, the ENF will issue a check to the Lodge for the donated amount. The organization who supplied the funds will receive a tax receipt and acknowledgement letter from the ENF.

Step 4: Upon completion of the Lodge’s charitable project, the Lodge must then complete a Final Report Form accounting for the granted funds.
