Come be a part of the Elks quiet network of good deeds! The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the USA has an immediate opening for a Shipping & Receiving Clerk in our Shipping Department.

 

Responsibilities include:

 

Shipping and ReceivingShip goods from the establishment; prepare records of goods shipped; make up bills of lading; post weight and shipping charges; keep files of shipping records; receive incoming shipments of merchandise or other materials; verify correctness of shipments against bills of lading, invoices, etc.; keep records of goods received; report damaged goods and shortages; route goods to the proper departments.

 

Requirements

  • Qualified candidates must have a minimum of one year of related experience. 
  • Prior shipping and receiving, customer service, mail room experience required.
  • Experience with Pitney Bowes postage machine preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must have knowledge of office administrative procedures, as well as knowledge of use and operation of standard office equipment and standard mail room equipment.
  • Must have knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases.
  • Must have excellent spelling and grammar; good phone skills; be organized; be able to set priorities and meet deadlines; be able to multi-task and carefully proof own work.
  • Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy.
  • Ability to drive; must have a valid driver’s license
  • Position requires the ability to be mobile, standing, walking, bending, twisting, climbing stairs, reaching overhead, pushing/pulling, etc.
  • Must be able to lift and carry a minimum of 25 pounds.

 

Compensation is based on experience ($18-$23/hour).
