Work for a dynamic charitable foundation in the heart of Lincoln Park with national programs that teach youth lifelong skills, inspire the pursuit of knowledge, serve veterans, and transform local communities into healthier and safer places to live.

The Elks National Foundation has an opening for a Programs Coordinator in the Community Investments Program office at its headquarters in Chicago. The Programs Coordinator is responsible for grant management, grant compliance and program promotion. This is a great opportunity to help volunteers build stronger communities through grants for charitable projects.

The primary Programs Coordinator duties involve the following:

  • Processing grant applications, issuing grant checks and monitoring grant compliance.
  • Act as frontline to volunteers in more than 1,800 local chapters and the public by fielding phone and email inquiries.
  • Assist with telling grant stories through a variety of media, including social media channels, the website, electronic and print newsletters, and print publications and fact sheets.

Qualified candidates should:

  • Have a bachelor’s degree, ideally with one or more years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, writing and communication skills.
  • Possess customer service skills and experience.
  • Be a self-starter with excellent follow through.
  • Excel at working independently on multiple tasks and thrive in a team environment.
  • Set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms. HTML is a plus.
