Position: Programs Coordinator - Hoop Shoot

Position Description

Work for a dynamic charitable foundation in the heart of Lincoln Park whose national programs teach youth lifelong skills, inspire the pursuit of knowledge, serve veterans, and transform local communities into healthier and safer places to live.

The Elks National Foundation has an opening for a Programs Coordinator at its headquarters in Chicago. The Programs Coordinator is responsible for customer service and administrative support for the Foundation’s programs department. This is a great opportunity to hone volunteer management skills while helping youth develop grit through the Elks Hoop Shoot program.

The primary Programs Coordinator duties involve the following:

  • Frontline for Hoop Shoot program volunteers at all levels, youth program participants and families, membership, and the general public by fielding phone and email inquiries.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the Elks Hoop Shoot program by ensuring volunteers have the tools needed to successfully promote and host a contest.
  • Assist with planning and execution of the Hoop Shoot National Finals.
  • Assist with telling program stories through a variety of media, including social media channels, online, electronic, and print newsletters, and print publications and fact sheets.

Qualified candidates should:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree, ideally with one or more years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrate strong organization, writing, and communication skills.
  • Possess customer service skills and experience.
  • Be a self-starter with excellent follow-through.
  • Excel at working independently on multiple tasks and thrive in a team environment.
  • Set priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Have knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and social media platforms.
