Position Description

The Elks National Foundation has an opening for a Donor Services Assistant in the Donor Services Department at its headquarters in Chicago. The Donor Services Assistant is responsible for processing donations and maintaining constituent data to ensure proper recognition for donors.

The primary Donor Services Assistant duties involve the following:

  • Process donations, including research donations to prevent duplication of donor records and ensure proper credit; verify that checks are properly executed; establish new accounts and make necessary changes to existing accounts; prepare a batch for keying; accurately enter data for donors to receive recognition
  • Process electronic remittances utilizing databases
  • Maintain error rate below 0.50
  • Process 25-35% of all donations
  • Research problem remittances and other items
  • Commit batches to Raiser’s Edge database
  • Reconcile donor addresses and chapter transfers
  • Process returned mail
  • Maintain foundation files
  • Process monthly mailings
  • Assist with onsite electronic check processing
  • Process foundation mail deliveries when needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualified candidates are detail-oriented, have critical thinking skills, have good computer skills, operate 10-key calculator, familiarity with Microsoft Office, have good customer service skills, can work both independently as well as part of a team. Familiarity with Raiser’s Edge preferred.
