Position: Tier 3 Help Desk Engineer

Position Description

The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the USA has an immediate opening for a capable and highly motivated Tier 3 Help Desk Engineer at our headquarters location in the heart of Lincoln Park.   

Our Help Desk staff provides front line technical support for our internal and external users. The right candidate will demonstrate a desire to learn and grow at their position. Applicants need to demonstrate excellent customer service and communication skills along with a team-oriented personality.

Responsibilities include

  • Provide technical support to staff

  • Responsible for creating and deploying images to workstations

  • Administer Group Policy Objects

  • Troubleshoot printer and workstation issues

  • Diagnose network issues

  • Administer antivirus system

  • Mentor Tier 2 Help Desk staff

  • Setup and maintain domain accounts, 365 accounts, VOIP accounts

  • Monitor backup system

  • Work with systems team to maintain server, network, and firewall

 

Requirements and qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Help Desk Support

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related subject

  • Microsoft certifications preferred
  • Experience with Office 365 setup, management, and product lines

  • Experience with Hyper-V or VMware

  • Knowledge of AD, Group Policy, DHCP, DNS, VLANS, subnetting, IP/routing

  • Experience with Rapid 7, LogicMonitor, ZenDesk, and Solarwinds a plus

  • Excellent problem-solving skills

  • Team player

  • Great interpersonal and communication skills

  • Position may require overnight travel for up to 7 days for the annual convention.

 

Must also be detail oriented, have strong communication and organizational skills, high level of initiative, the ability to work both independently as well as part of a team, ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, the ability to read and interpret technical information, and the desire to grow yourself, your team and the company.  Must also be patient and able to work with and communicate effectively with people of varying levels of computer skills. 

 

This is an exempt level position. Compensation is based on experience ($55,000-$70,000 annually).
