The Ashland Elks Lodge #944 has a long history of serving and supporting Veterans affiliated with the SORCC. Their commitment to Veterans and their families is manifest in various activities, which includes support of both inpatient and outpatient Veterans. The Elks have been active in this role since the 1980s, and in recent years their involvement is facilitated by VA volunteer and Elks member Rhonda Brustol.
The Ashland Elks Lodge No. 944 of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks was one out of 53 lodges that received an Impact Grant from the Elks National Foundation. The grant is in the amount of $10,000 and will be used to help veterans who are completing rehabilitation and transitioning to an independent living environment.
With Oregon youth suicides increasing at an alarming rate, Ashland Elks Lodge 944 used a Gratitude Grant from the Elks National Foundation to provide workshops for area youths.
