This week our club room will be open:
Wednesday, September 11th for Grill and Chill - The Grill will be up from 6 to 8 pm. For just $10, you can choose from sirloin steak, a smoked pork chop, or a chicken breast to grill yourself. Also included in the meal is bread, a baked potato, and salad. You are encouraged to bring friends or family members interested in joining the Elks, as this is a membership drive night. At 7 pm, we’ll hold a brief special meeting to initiate new members. We encourage all current members to come upstairs and extend a warm welcome.
Thursday, September 12th for SW District Deputy Director Visit - We’re honored to welcome SW District Deputy Director Curtis Blystone and his team for their annual visit and inspection. All officers are requested to arrive at 5:30 pm to review our books and activities. Our regular monthly meeting will follow at 7 pm, featuring remarks from Curtis.
Friday, September 13th: Reserved - The club room will be reserved. Members are always welcome to use the club room during regular posted hours.
Saturday, September 14th for a Patio Evening - Enjoy the evening on our patio in the club room. It’s a great opportunity to relax and socialize.
As always Happy Hour, prices at the bar are from 5 pm to 7 pm on weekdays. Call if you will be arriving later than 8 pm so the bartender knows to wait for you (515) 962-5474.
If you are a member, a member's spouse, or member's child (that is at least 18 years-old) - you can help the lodge by becoming a trained volunteer bartender; contact a Trustee to learn how.
Join us Sept 27th starting at 5:30pm for Live music on the patio Bottomless bowls of chili, free application fees for new members, and a relaxing evening full of fun. We are encouraging all members, if you have a friend interested in our lodge, please bring them to the event and encourage them to join. The lodge is covering the application fee for this event only. Be ready to enjoy a great evening!

You're warmly invited to our Oktoberfest Members' Dinner at the Lodge, October 12th starting at 6 PM. Open to Members and their Spouses/Significant Others only; Costumes optional. There will be games! RSVP to the Lodge bartender or text/call Brad Sinclair at (515) 490-0172 by 10/02/2024 and be sure to indicate whether you want a brat or a chicken dish.
The 2025 MVS contest is officially underway! The application deadline is November 12th. As a member your biggest priority now should be promoting the contest. Please share this email with any High School Senior that excels in leadership and scholarship. If you personally know a High School counselor share with them also. The MVS application link can be found at enf.elks.org/MVS. Applicants need to click the big, blue “Apply Now” button to get started. The 2025 MVS Leadership Weekend will be in Chicago May 1-4, 2025. The Top 20 scholars, selected from the 500 national semi-finalists, receive an invitation to the weekend and scholarships of $30,000. The 480 runners-up receive scholarships of $4,000. Attendance at Leadership Weekend is required to be part of the Top 20 cohort and receive $30,000.
