Indianola, IA Lodge No. 2814

Greetings Members and Friends,

This week our club room will be open:

Wednesday, July 24th - We are opening at 8 am for the RAGBRAI LI “Just Eat it” Street Party on the Indianola Square. We are required to close our doors at 2 pm. Almost all our regular volunteers plus 20 volunteers will be serving up Grinders & Chips for $8 and a select variety of beer and seltzer plus water for the Street Party. Come up a join the fun if you have time. The Club Room itself will be closed due to the requirements of our temporary commercial liquor license and the lifting of the open container ordinance for RAGBRAI.
THERE WILL BE NO GRILL AND CHILL THAT EVENING.

Thursday, July 25th

None of our regular volunteer bartenders are available currently. If someone’s schedule opens, we will put a notice on Facebook – Indianola, Iowa Elks Lodge #2814.

Friday, July 26th - None of our regular volunteer bartenders are available currently. If someone’s schedule opens, we will put a notice on Facebook – Indianola, Iowa Elks Lodge #2814.

Saturday, July 27th - None of our regular volunteer bartenders are available currently. If someone’s schedule opens, we will put a notice on Facebook – Indianola, Iowa Elks Lodge #2814.

Sunday, July 28th - We will be hosting OUR Inaugural Indianola Car Show from 9am-3pm. The Community feels this is a great opportunity for Indianola Town Square for those looking for something additional to do during the Warren County Fair and National Balloon Classic! Come up and enjoy a stroll through the classic cars - see the dragster and listen to our own Brooke Boden sing the National Anthem around the noon hour. Awards will be announced in the early afternoon.

As always Happy Hour, prices at the bar are from 5 pm to 7 pm on weekdays. Call if you will be arriving later than 8 pm so the bartender knows to wait for you (515) 962-5474.

If you are a member, a member's spouse, or member's child (that is at least 18 years-old) - you can help the lodge by becoming a trained volunteer bartender; contact a Trustee to learn how.

90% of the teachers in the US say they spend their own money on Classroom Supplies. The National Center for Education reports the average amount a teacher spends each year is $750. Some teachers even have to work a second job to cover this expense. Let's help our local teachers by bringing things on the list below to the Club Room before August 3rd.
Leave them in the tubs on the stage at the front of our club room. (Please leave any gift cards with the bartender.) A special thanks to our member/elementary school teacher who created this priority list from the large general list published in the newsletter.
