Exalted Ruler's Message

Bonnie Skidds, Exalted Ruler 2020-2021

As I absolutely been a blink of an eye. My 2020-2021 term as Exalted Ruler will be remembered as one of the greatest honors of my life. I thank everyone for their amazing support during this very challenging year for everyone. We began this year withsit down to write my final Exalted Ruler message, I reflect on how quickly this year has passed. This year has  Covid-19, being closed for three months, and installing the 2020-2021 Suite in the parking lot of the Lodge. This was the first indication that Rochester Elks Lodge #1393 will move forward in challenging times. Needless to say, we spent a good period of time interpreting and reacting to the Covid-19 Guidelines. Once we received word that we could open “outside,” we once again met in the parking lot to put that plan together. As you know, after a couple of weeks we were able to open inside in the Lodge hall and finally we opened the lounge within the guidelines. The Lodge membership and our strong leadership have worked tirelessly to open this Lodge and return to some level of normalcy while protecting our membership. At some point, we were able to become proactive and continue with many events and other social activities with protocols in place. I thank our amazing membership and forward-thinking leadership for their commitment to ensuring that this Lodge will do whatever it takes to strive for business as usual in an extremely challenging time. Rochester Elks Lodge #1393 is a beacon for Elkdom. We should all be proud of what we have accomplished and will continue to accomplish for the Lodge and our Community. On March 27th, we will install Exalted Ruler Elect Jerry Skidds and his Suite of Officers for the 2021-2022 term. I am very excited to support Jerry and his Suite of Officers and look forward to a fantastic year. Thank you again for the opportunity to serve as your Exalted Ruler. Stay Safe and See you at the Lodge!
