ELKS PURCHASE EXTENSION CORDS FOR MARION POLICE GENERATORS

MARION, Ohio (November 11, 2003) – The Marion Elks Lodge 32 presented a check for $480 to the Marion City Police Department for the purchase of heavy duty extension cords. They will be used in conjunction with the eight portable generators donated to the Police Department by Sears and the United Way of Marion County. Together the equipment will be used to safeguard health care and related establishments where people might be at risk in the event of a power loss.

Half of this contribution was made possible by the Elks National Foundation, a perpetual trust fund established many years ago by the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks. Contributions to the Foundation are made each year by more than one million Elks from over 2000 Elk Lodges. This donation was matched by the members of the local Marion Elks Lodge 32.

Marion Elks Exalted Ruler, Brad Smith, presented the check to Marion City Police Chief Tom Bell and Major Tom Robbins. β€œOn behalf of the Marion Elks and the Ohio Elks Association, we are pleased to present this expression of our commitment to serving our community.” Smith said.
