Committees

 

 

Veterans Committee - Elk members work closely with Elk veterans and other services within the community to enhance the lives of veterans. The Elks pledge that so long as there are veterans, the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks will never forget them.

 

 

 

 


Americanism Committee - This committeet works to instill patriotism in the hearts of all citizens of our community.  Working with the school districts to promote Americansim, Elks promote an essay contest for 5-8th grades.  Elks also recognize First Responders and award an outstanding individual for service above and beyond the call of duty.  


Drug Awareness Program - Elks are dedicated to keeping our community drug free.  As part of this program, Janet Bishop, committee chair, works to educate children of our community on the hazards of drug use by exhibiting Elk Drug Awareness information at the Casa Grande "Night Out" held annual in September.  Dictionaries are also distributed to area 4th graders in the Casa Grande area.


Scholarship Program - The Casa Grande Elks donated over $9000 last year to Casa Grande high school students.  Diz Downing, Scholarship Chair, works with her committee and the National Elks office to select the best of the best for scholarships awarded from the Elks National Foundation.


Youth Activities - Our activities for the youth in our community include a Hoop Shoot, Soccer Shoot, a shopping spree at Christmas, dictionaries for all 4th graders in the Casa Grande area, providing scholarships for swimming lessons through a grant from the Elks National Foundation, donations to the Seeds of Hope after school program, support for the Junior ROTC program as well as the Boys and Girl Scouts of America.  Casa Grande Elks are embracing the future of our community by being involved with the youth in our community.
