ELKS ANTLER PROGRAM

The Lancaster Elks Lodge #1625 has an ongoing youth program called the Lancaster "Antlers". It is all for youth, both male and female, from the ages of 12 to not yet 21. Meetings are held at the Lodge at 240 East Ave K, Lancaster, on the 1st and 3rd Fridays of each month from 7:00 to 9:00pm. The first hour is the meeting and the 2nd hour is for social hour;  play games, meet new members, etc. Soda and Popcorn are available. The program will consist of fun, fellowship, and community service. While being an enjoyable program for youths, it will also help to teach you to be patriotic. The Antlers of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks of the United States of America has as its major objective the following: * To quicken the Spirit of American Patriotism. * To teach repect for parents and love of home. * To inculcate the fundamentals of good citizenship. * To aid in a worthy cause. * To establish foundation of character. * To promote the welfare and enhance the happiness of character. * And to respect the conviction of others in the matters of worship and religion is true Americanism. One of our  projects is to help build the "Haunted House inside the Lodge and to be of some of the "Freaky People", and to help with the games for the kids. In November, we are planning to feed a family for Thanksgiving. Our first program was hosted by Antelope Valley Credit Union. They explained the importance of savings accounts and gave us coupons to start a savings account. Please bring a friend. Officers have been initiated and dues approved. We invite all teenagers to come to our meetings. Bring your parents on your first visit so both of you will understand our program. Applications are available at the Elks Lodge. All youth from 12 to not yet 21 are invited to join. For further information, please call Mr. Bill Brehm, Advisor, at (661) 724-0529, or the Elks Lodge at (661) 942-1625.
