Exalted Rulers Message: What a great month we had in May! So many awesome activities - Derby Day, Mother’s Day luncheon, Scholarship Banquet, and Memorial Day weekend with the pool opening! Special thanks to Melissa Hogue for planning and directing Derby Day. It was a lot of fun for all participants. Congratulations to contest winners Shannon Rahm and Lisa Kunz. Everyone enjoyed seeing all the ladies in their hats! Karen Davis and Georgia Monk are co-chairs of the Scholarship committee now. They and their committee did a great job at the Scholarship banquet. It was well attended by recipients and their families. Over $36,000 was awarded in scholarships. Thanks to our Red Coats for serving the dinner, it was a wonderful evening. Mother’s Day luncheon was well attended. Thanks to Richard Smith and Gary Colvin for putting on a great meal. Thank you, Debbie Krepak for taking care of the beverages, and thanks to all our Red Coats who came to serve. I think the mothers felt appreciated as they should. Finally, June is looking great with lots of activities as well. We have the fabulous Luau occurring on June 3RD. Make plans now to attend this summer party of all parties. This is a great opportunity to invite guests to see what the lodge has to offer while supporting the Auxiliary’s homeless veteran’s dinner. Flag Day is June 14. We plan to have our ceremony at 5:30 on June 14. This is an open meeting for members, spouses, and children. Scout Troop 5 will be part of the program. Did you know that Flag Day was originated by the Elks? Come out and celebrate with us. The auxiliary will have dinner available for purchase afterwards. Flag pins will be given out to all who attend. State convention will be held June 16-18. Registration forms are in the office. Any Elk may attend. Registration will be reimbursed to any lodge member who attends. We would like to have a good showing at this since we are the largest lodge in the state. Thank you to all our volunteers for everything you do!
