Exalted Rulers Message
Message from the Exalted Ruler,
Summer is gone and we are back in session every 1st and 3rd Wednesdays. The Trustees and House Committee meeting will be on the first Tuesday of every month.
Grand Lodge was a tremendous experience, and very informative. Listening to all the great things the Elk's do was very inspirational. We voted on eighteen resolutions to Grand Lodge Statutes. I have a copy of how I voted with Nancy if anyone is interested in how our Lodge voted. I have included all the resolutions on a separate page and the results of the balloting. The Honorable James L. Nichelson, our new Grand Exalted Ruler, put on one heck of a celebration. With all of Ohio's delegation throwing balls and parading around the huge convention hall. There were 4,783 Elks registered and 6,912 Elks and guest on hand.
During our first regular meeting, September 2nd, we are required to vote on a proposal to amend Article III, Section 18 of the Constitution of the Order. Any member wishing to cast a vote on this should attend. The Proposal is hanging on the bulletin board at the Club.
Join with me in congratulating incoming Colorado Elks Association President George Uhland. We are proud of our President and wish him the very best in his upcoming year. Canon City Lodge No. 610 has not had a State President represent us since 1943. Installation is at CEA State Convention on September 10-13th. Come to Convention and help us support him. We hope to see you there!
We will be having our District Deputy visit on September 16th. Glenn Tiemann will be the District Deputy doing our Visit. My goal this year is to have a plus one membership. Our By-Laws have a provision where in November; any person that has been dropped from membership can re-instate for $1.00 and pay up the current years dues. This includes both Life Members and regular members. So if anyone knows of someone who has been dropped please help out by asking them to re-instate or contact one of the Officers and we will contact them. We'll see you down at the Club.
