Farmington to Arlington
Farmington Hills, Michigan, July 2024 - On April 13th, 2024, Farmington Elks Lodge 1986 embarked on a journey of respect and remembrance, making an 1100-mile round trip to Arlington National Cemetery to honor our nation's fallen heroes by placing a commemorative wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. With reverence and gratitude, the Farmington Elks paid tribute to the brave men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. This act of remembrance was not merely symbolic but a profound demonstration of the Elks’ respect for the selfless service rendered by America's veterans. "The Farmington Elks Lodge recognizes the debt of gratitude owed to our fallen veterans," said Christie Korczyk, Exalted Ruler of the Farmington Elks Lodge. "Our journey to Arlington National Cemetery was a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by these courageous individuals. It was our privilege and duty to honor their memory in this meaningful way." The Farmington Elks have a long-standing tradition of community service and patriotic endeavors. Through charitable initiatives and unwavering support for veterans and their families, the Elks embody the spirit of unity and compassion that defines the American ethos. With the support of donations from Members, guests, and a local business, the Elks engaged a local film production crew, Mitchell Logic Media, to capture this moving and solemn event. The Elks hosted a public premiere on June 14, 2024, at 7:30 p.m. The premiere will place at the Farmington Michigan Elks Lodge #1986, located at 30898 Ten Mile Road, Farmington Hills, MI 48336. The public was welcome to attend. This event offers an opportunity for the community to come together and honor the memory of fallen veterans while reflecting on the importance of service and sacrifice. As the Farmington Elks embarked on their reverent pilgrimage to Arlington National Cemetery, they carried with them the collective gratitude and reverence of our community. This pilgrimage served as a poignant reminder of the enduring spirit of patriotism and solidarity that unites the nation in times of remembrance.
