An Oct. 3, 2015 spaghetti dinner at the Sebasticook Valley Lodge raised $2,467 for the Kaylee Jarvis family to help with the youngster's medical expenses. In addition, a $500 donation from the Modern Woodmen Fund was presented to the family. Peyton Grant of Newport won the Maine State Hoop Shoot championship in the girls’ age 12-13 division on Jan. 25, 2015 at the Augusta Elks Lodge. She now advances to the New England Regional round at Deering High School in Portland on March 28. The Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge held its annual Hoop Shoot on Dec. 14, 2014 at Maine Central Institute's Wright Gymnasium where youngsters in different age categories had an opportunity to demonstrate their free-throw expertise on 25 foul shots. Pictured, from left, are winners Logan Cote of Pittsfield (boys 10-11), Cody Marquis of Pittsfield (boys 12-13), Maya Cooney of Palmyra (girls 10-11) and Peyton Grant of Newport (girls 12-13). The next round of competition will be the Maine North Regionals at the James F. Doughty Middle School in Bangor on Sunday, Jan. 11 at 10 a.m.

The Sebasticook Valley Elks Lodge sponsored Family Literacy Night at Manson Park School in Pittsfield on May 21,2014 thanks to a $2,000 Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grant.
