Jenny French, State Sweetheart 2014-15 Pictured above is Wichita Falls’ Jenny French displaying the State Sweetheart trophy after being crowned this year’s winner during the TESA State Convention at Addison last month. Supported by her Lodge and all of the North Central District Sweethearts, Jenny turned in a record-smashing $100,706 of total contributions. Statewide, the Sweetheart program raised nearly $500,000 to support the Texas Elks Summer Camp and Special Needs Grants. Jenny’s “triple crown” award this year also reflected the enthusiastic support of Wichita Falls Lodge, which alone raised $34,583 for the Sweetheart program, as well as for the North Central District’s $53.34 per capita, the highest in the state. This marks the third year in a row that North Central District Sweethearts have taken top honors and broken existing records. In 2011-12, Sandi Kiesling of Grapevine broke the $80,000 mark, and last year JoAnn Maddux, also of Grapevine, set another new record last year with more than $90,000 in donations.
