Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 PER Association purchased two full size bronze Elk statues

The
Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 Past Exalted Ruler Association recently purchased two
full size bronze Elk statues for our Elks Lodge 343 which were placed near the
Elk Member’s Memorial today, August 24th.  A BIG Thank you to Elk members
Sean Quain, Mike Falter and PER Scott R. Harris who put this purchase plan
together.  Sean, who found out about the possible sale of the two statues
and immediately contacted his Father-in-Law, Mike.  Mike then contacted Scott,
who then reached out to his fellow active PER’s to see if the interest was
there and which PER funds could be used for the purchase. The rest, as they
say, is history.  Thank you as well to PER Steven Peters (use of his truck
& trailer), PER Joseph Barbe, Lodge 343 Greens Superintendent Mark Pringle,
Scott & Jeff Bennett for handling the loading, delivering, unloading and
placement of the statues.  The PER’s have more work to complete in the
near future as to the final statue settings, landscaping, adding the garden
border and enclosed garden area around the monuments.  Once everything is
completed there will be another article published about the actual “Bennett”
purchase history of the Elk Statues and with final placement pictures.  A
special thank you to Jeff & Bridgette Bennett from Marysville, MI. who were
kind enough to sell the two beautiful statues to our Elk Lodge 343 for all to
see and appreciate for years to come.
