Congratulations to our very own Harper Malloy as she took 2nd place in the 8/9 year-old girls division at the State Elks Hoop Shoot competition held on Saturday, February 19th. Harper represented Port Huron Elks Lodge 343 at the Parker Middle school competition in Livingston County, MI. This event was the 3rd round Harper participated in. Harper took first in the Local (Port Huron-St. Clair County area) and the Metro District 4200 rounds, which allowed her to advance to the State finals. Attending this event and handing out the trophys were current Michigan Elks President James Rowland, 1st Vice President Dave Sladek, 2nd Vice President Penny Geishert and Past State Presidents Jerry Alexie and Joe Antonishek. A Champion’s dinner was held at the Howell Elks Lodge 2168 following the event for all contestants and family members. The 2022 Hoop Shoot National Finals will take place on April 28, 2022 thru May 1, 2022 at Wintrust Arena home of the WNBA Champion Chicago Sky. Way to go Harper we’re all so proud of you.
