Giving to our Community

The generosity of Elks dedicated to the many ways we improve the lives of those in our communities has become a way of life.

Donating our Lodge Facility to "Christmas Smile" for those people who are not as fortunate as us is one way of giving. Elk members and friends who come in to help on December 24th also bring food, clothing, and toys for those in need. What a wonderful experience this is for the Christmas Season.

We continue the spirit of giving by purchasing gift items for Veterans living at Pleasant Acres.  We have a Wooden Soldier Tree with a list of what our Veterans wish for Christmas.  Our members provide gifts to fulfill their wishes.

Our Veteran Service Committee will distribute Holiday Cards to Veterans in twelve York County Nursing Homes.  Each will also receive a snowman ornament dressed in fatigues.

The Veterans Committee has also provided the names of 20 Veterans to recieve a Christmas Tree dontated by local downtown businesses.

We are also giving students at TOPS a Christmas Bundle.  Almost 100% of the students live below the poverty level and are attending school on scholarships.  The bundles consist of a new bath towel and washcloth, shower gel, toothbrush and toothpaste, plus other items.  Ages are 5-18.   Bundles are delivered to the school before Christmas.

All of this is a small part of what the York Elks do.    Elks care, Elks share.
