PER Rummage Sale A Success

We just finished one of our major annual fundraisers, the PER Rummage sale. It was a successful event.
Over 700 dollars was raised and a substantial donation of useful goods was made to the Salvation Army of
material that wasn’t sold. An event like this doesn’t just happen it takes MANY volunteer hours. We want to
thank the many different contributors: Larry & Ginger Davis, Dave & Linda Strang, Larry & Theresa Glass,
Kent & Zona Mae Brewer, John & Johnnie Miller, Grover & Kathy Shelts, Marvin & Wanda Cogdill& their grand daughter Lori, Leo & Sandy Heidorn, Don &
Barbara Griffin, Tom Wiggins, Krider & Rose Marie Van Deusen, Alice Gilbert, Ellie Thurman, Lee Sumpter,
Janie Davis and her daughter Miranda, and Sarah Margaret Messell. A lot goes into making an event like this successful, First you need the generous donations of the good people of Bartlesville, Then someone has
to drive around picking up those donations and bringing them to the lodge. Then someone has to
separate the items and price them and line them up on the tables for the customers to see. Someone has to be
there to help the customers and collect the money and load the items into the customers cars. Finally someone has to cleanup, place the unsold items into
boxes and stack them for the Salvation Army pickup the following Monday morning. With all that work you
would think people would be exhausted, but it is not so. As I walked around the day of the sale I heard laughter
and saw more smiles than I could count. I guess when you know your hard work is going for a good cause
you can do whatever needs to be done.
