Elks Scholarships
Applications for the elks most valuable student scholarships will be in the area High schools in the middle of November. The local Elks Lodge no. 725 also has applications and can be picked up there. Or may be on the computer at www.elks.org/enf/scholarships or www.elks.org/enf/scholars/mvs.cfm Any high school senior who is a citizen of the U.S. is eligible to apply applicants do not need to be related to a member of BPO elks males and females apply separately. Applications must advance through local, district, and state competition the elks will award $2.216 million to the most valuable students they will award more than 500 scholarships on the national level plus 6 local scholarships and many throughout each lodge in the u.s. LEGACY SCHOLARSHIP The legacy awards are for any child grandchild or (step child, step grandchildren, or legal ward) of a living elk who joined the order on or before April 1, 2004 and has been a member in good standing since then or a charter member of a lodge that was instituted on or after April 1 ,2004 is eligible to apply The elk must also be a paid up member through March 31, 2009, the applicant must also be a high school senior. The applicant must apply through the related members lodge.
