In 1964 the New York State Elks Association and the United Cerebral Palsy Associaton (UCP) formed the Home Service Program. The partnership formed the Elks Major Projects. From its humble begining, the Elks/CP Home Service Program has grown and now services' all 17 Districts in our Association. Elks from around the State of New York contribute hundreds of thousands of dollars and through these contributions the Home Service Program operates. On April 28th South District Major Project Chair Judith Meier, PER announced that the South District raised a little more then $40,000 for Cerebral Palsy, more then $20.00 per Capita (Per Member). This is a new record for the South District and Mt. Vernon-Yonkers Lodge raised more then $40.00 per member thanks to the generosity of our members and the hard work of many of our lodge members, like PER Judy Meier and PDDGER Peter Cornacchio."I want to thank everyone in the lodge who contributed, purchased one of our $100 raffle tickets or worked on our committee", said Judy Meier. "It goes to show that Elks Care, Elks Share is more then just a motto." She also reminded us that the new year has just begun and we can not rest on our laurels, please give what you can, when you can. Every dime we raise goes towards the Elks/CP Home Service Program.
