The John Day Lodge is very active in support of our veterans. We host weekly VA counseling services in our Lodge on Wednesdays, 9 AM to 3 PM. These sessions include PTSD, family, faith, and individual needs. Service is provided by the Boise VAMC/Burns VA Clinic personnel.
We also provide free Thanksgiving dinner to our county veterans. And the community at large!
We are a major provider of volunteer drivers and coordinators for the DAV/VA van used to transport veterans to facilities within the Boise VAMC system. Working with Community Transit, we have assisted in getting additional services for vets using the Portland and Walla Walla VA centers.
