Harry Anna Trust Fund

The Harry Anna Trust Fund needs you! Did you know for as little as $20 you can contribute to the Harry Anna Trust Fund? Here is a little reminder about what Harry Anna Trust Fund is all about.

The Florida Elks Children's Hospital was conceived in 1931 by the imaginative minds of the late David Sholtz, Past Grand Exalted Ruler, and Harry R.P. Miller, a retired financier of Eustis, FL. Through the generosity of Harry and Anna Miller, the idea became reality, when their compassion and love for handicapped children led them to offer to the Florida State Elks Association, Inc., a three-story hotel and several orange groves in Umatilla, Florida.

The Elks accepted, and the Harry-Anna Home for crippled children was born. Even though the Florida Elks Children's Hospital is closed the Harry-Anna Trust Fund continues to fund the two main charity projects of Florida Elks. The Florida Elks Children's Therapy Services and the Florida Elks Youth Camp.

The Florida Children's Therapy Service has added eight (8) speech therapists to their arsenal of services. Each of these therapists has 24 kids that they are treating. To date the FECTS treats over 305 kids a week statewide and they have traveled more than 1 million miles.

Now, how can you say $20 down and $20 a year for 4 more years isn't worth it with statistics like that? That is all it takes and not only does it support the FECTS but the Youth Camp as well!

Here is how you can help, during Lodge Meetings and directly afterwards we will be collecting donations to the fund. If you want to make a donation please see the Lodge Secretary or call 305-668-1676 and get your donation going!

Please take some time to consider the time of year. This is a time where we need to consider those in need and help to the best of our ability. So reach down and come on down to the Lodge and make your donation. Or call the office and arrange a time to make a donation.
