Ribbon Cutting, September 4, 2004

On September 4, 2004 we officially opened the Biddeford-Saco Lodge of Elks # 1597 new Lodge building following a lengthy construction program. A series of activities including the first official Elk's meeting held at the new location; an old fashioned country Bar-B-Que, and a steak and lobster banquet were features of the opening week.

A ribbon cutting ceremony was held welcoming local officers of the Lodge as well as officers from the National Organization and the neighboring states of New Hampshire, Vermont, and several area communtities.

Pictured cutting the purple ribbon that encircled the entire building are front row left to right: Harry Desjardins, Secretary; Roger Sicard; Peter A Hall, of Vermont, National Grand Trustee; Amon A. McCallum, GER; Barbara McCallum; Dorothy Morales of West Rockport; Luis Morales of West Rockport, State President of the Maine Elks Association; Harvey Beaulieu, Trustee; Stephen P Cantara, Exalted Ruler; and John E Hill, Trustee
