November Is Elks Veterans Remembrance Month

Chicago, IL, October 11, 2018: An estimated twenty-two million veterans live in our communities. The Elks National President, Michael T. Luhr, has proclaimed November to be Veterans Remembrance Month as a way to encourage us to reach out to local Veterans and offer your support.

Elks Leading the Way for 149 Years!

The Elks Were Founded on February 16, 1868. Local Elks Lodges throughout the United States and in Guam, Puerto Rico and the Panama Canal will be celebrating 149 years of community service on February 16, 2017.

Elks Gear Up for Christmas

During the Christmas season, Elks lodges around the country gear up and show their holiday spirit to their communities by helping those in need. Throughout the month of December, lodges often host Christmas parties for needy children, contribute generously to charities that assist families and children (such as the Salvation Army and the US Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program), and provide Christmas food boxes, many of which also contain toys and gifts for the families’ children, to thousands of needy families.

Community Volunteers Making a Difference

Local Elks Lodges from every state, Guam, Puerto Rico and the Panama Canal Zone will be busy helping our communities this holiday season. Thousands of needy families will receive food baskets and presents.
