  • Mardi Gras Madness

    A special thank you to all who attended the is years' Mardi Gras. It was both enjoyable for attendees and prosperous for our charities!

  • Elks Effort for Sandy Relief

    We would like to thank all of you who contributed to help make this outreach a success! A van packed full of much needed supplies delivered your donations to New Jersey. Check the photo gallery for pictures.

  • Local 2012 Soccer Shoot Held

    Sayre Elks Lodge 1148 held its annual soccer shoot October 13th and 14th this year at the Valley Youth soccer fields. Dwayne and Dayna LaFritz organized the event with help from our membership. Over sixty children from the community particpated. First place winners will compete at Districts to be held at the Athens High School October 27th. Local awards were handed out at a gathering in our annex. Particpants and their parents were treated to pizza and soda. Thank you everyone who made this event a success!

    DDGER Steve Wallace will be visiting our lodge Tuesday October 2nd. We have an initiation with dinner at 5:30.

  • Motorcycle/Car Rally

    8/25/12- The motorcycle/car rally was very successful this year. Sixty participants enjoyed a day of fellowship. The event brought in over seven hundred dollars to use for lodge initiatives. Thank you to everyone who planned and participated in this event.

  • Flag Day 2012

    Our annual Flag Day Ceremony held in Howard Elmer Park was well attended. At the last lodge meeting, Exalted Ruler Tim Swingle thanked all the officers for their participation. For members who have not attended one of these ceremonies, we would encourage you to mark the date on your calendar for next year. Seeing the honor guard carrying the American flags is quite a moving experience. We would also greatly appreciate it if any of you who took photographs that day and would like to share, forward them to jswingle1@stny.rr.com.

  • Officers Attend Scout Banquet

    Officers from the Sayre Elks Lodge attended the recent Eagle Scout recognition banquet held at the Towanda Lodge. State Representative Tina Pickett and Attorney Dan Barrett spoke to local scouts praising them for their achievements. A thank you goes out to PER Ruth Owen for her efforts to make this event a success.

  • Your ENF Contributions in Action!

    Tuesday evening, May 22nd, members of our lodge presented a check to Sayre Mayor Denny Thomas to help pay for renovations at the Howard Elmer Park. This donation was made possible through a grant our lodge received from the Elks National Foundation. Only those lodges who met their per capita in giving were eligible to apply for the grant. Thank you for your generous support to this program!

  • Exalted Ruler Timothy S. Swingle Awarded

    Exalted Ruler Timothy S. Swingle was award the ENF Leadership Pin for his efforts as ENF (Elks National Foundation) Chairperson. It is awarded to fund chairpersons whose lodege not only meets the lodge per capita requirements but also have shown exceptional leadership, dedication, and support of ENF. Congratulations!

  • Chicken Barbecue

    Our chicken barbecue for the Adult Scholarship Fund this past Saturday, May 12th, was very successful. Thank you to all the members who worked and all of you who supported this cause.

  • A Special Thank You

    A special thank you to all those who helped at our recent work bee. Exalted Ruler Tim Swingle and work bee organizer Curt Shipman offered their sincere appreciation at the May 1st lodge meeting. They expressed a desire to make the work bee an annual event.
