Elks donate to Shop With A Cop ? Justine Wettschreck WORTHINGTON - Nobles County Sheriff Kent Wilkening on Wednesday accepted a check for $3,500 from the Worthington Elks Lodge, represented by former Chief Deputy Chris Heinrichs. The funds will be used to help fund the second year of Shop With a Cop, a program that involves Nobles County deputies shopping with kids and families that need a little help during the Christmas season. This year, the program will assist six families encompassing 16 kids. The sheriff's office gets assistance in choosing the families from the school districts in the county, as well as using their own knowledge based on cases. While the generous funds from the Elks Lodge are significant, other donations to fund the program come from the private sector.
