Lodge News
March News from ER Rich Herron
With the arrival of March, we can look forward to the first day of spring on the 20th; and despite the seasonal winds, you can come in and enjoy your Lodge as we start to transition to warmer weather and hot times. The groundhog forecast another six weeks of winter, but we still forecast good times.
Speaking of good times, if you missed the Sunday live music by Cup O’ Joe, you missed a really good time. The music was fabulous, he played for 3 hours straight with no break, and you could understand the lyrics. Kudos to our Bar Manager, Debbie, for finding him!
Here in Ocean City our most celebrated event is the St. Patrick’s Day parade which is scheduled for Saturday, March 11th. My advice is come to the Lodge early, secure a seat and enjoy the day! Food will be traditional Irish fare. If you miss the parade day party, the following Friday, March 17, which is actually St. Patrick’s Day, you can still get your Irish on.
Remember that Daylight Savings Time begins on the 12th of March. Also in March there will be an Induction of Members on March 18th scheduled to begin at noon. As of the writing of this newsletter, the number of inductees has not been finalized.
I am happy to announce that Wayne Janis has come aboard as our Information Technology Webmaster. He will be updating our web page and social media. Call, email or text him with your news stories about our Lodge.
Our Lodge does not function without our many volunteers who keep everything working. As always, thanks to our hard-working volunteers. Everyone is welcome to join in. There is always room for more.
At this time a short reminder that elections were held on the 28th of February. Thanks everyone who came out for this election. This is your Lodge so your voice matters. The offices to be decided were: Exalted Ruler, Leading Knight, Loyal Knight, Lecturing Knight, Lodge Secretary and Lodge Treasurer. Congratulations to everyone.
In closing, be Safe and be Happy!!
