Rochester Elks Donate $2500 to the Share Fund

On Saturday, June 6th, 2020 the Rochester, NH Elks Lodge #1393 made a donation of $2,500 dollars to the Rochester Share Fund. Accepting the donation was Share Fund Treasurer Jerry Rainville.  Also on hand was Lodge Secretary and Elks National Foundation Chair Norm Gervais and Bonnie Skidds, Exalted Ruler.

This donation was made possible by the Elks National Foundation Gratitude Grant Program.  Elks Gratitude Grants must be used to support local charitable activities.

The Share Fund is a registered 501c3 local non profit, charitable outreach program within the Lilac City community, which provides various types of material and financial support to families and individuals in need during emergencies or in time of need. The Share Fund reaches out to neighbors in our community who are in need of help during difficult times. It provides innovative program services to guide families on a path to self-sufficiency and refers them to other agencies and resources when eligible, thus maximizing aid.

Grants to local community non profit organizations are made possible primarily through member donations to the Elks National Foundation. Grants are awarded based on various guidelines and criteria. The Rochester Elks is extremely proud to be able to help support charitable endeavors such as the Rochester Share Fund. Our Lodge was chartered in 1920 and we are celebrating our 100th year in the Lilac City. Our programs include youth activities, veterans activities, drug awareness for students, scholarships, patriotic events and community involvement. Rochester currently has well over 900 members and growing. The state of New Hampshire has 7,500 members in 14 communities and we have close to 1 million members nationally.
