Lodge #2559 Home
Vicki Way Exalted Ruler 2020 – 2021
(changes are in red)
September 2, 2020
We are still in a soft opening and likely to remain that way for some time. The office will be open from 9:00am - 1:00pm, but all payments, etc. must be handled through the mail slot in the office door. The office door will remain locked at this time.
Due to Covid-19 concerns, we will be observing the following procedures:
Everyone entering the Lodge will have their temperature taken by the greeter. If your temperature is 100.4 degrees or higher, you will not be permitted to enter the Lodge.
A series of 4 questions will be asked of each person (similar to those asked upon entering a doctor’s office). If the answer is yes to any one of those questions, you will not be permitted to enter the Lodge.
It is also very important that you sign the contact tracing sheet. Should a member/employee contract Covid – 19, this will enable us to contact you and apprise you of the situation.
If you have been in contact with someone who has covid-19 or has tested positive, I urge you to self-quarantine for 14 days before coming to the Lodge.
We are doing our best to follow Governor Ducey’s and Grand Lodge guidelines. The main lounge remains closed and locked. No bar or food service will be held in the main lounge due to social distancing restrictions. The back bar is open and the 8-top round tables have seating for 4 people at the table. There are tables set up to accommodate 6 people. We also have a few small square tables that will seat 2 people. We ask that you please observe social distancing guidelines for the health & safety of our members. Please do not move tables together or move chairs from one table to another. NO EXCEPTIONS!! NEW!! AT THE DISCRETION of the Host or Club Manager chairs many be moved to accommodate seating 6 at a 4-person table. No more than 6 persons allowed. Sorry, there are no exceptions to this rule. We have tried to make the dining room more inviting and comfortable for our members. We have moved the comfortable lounge chairs into the dining room, as well as the two high top bartables with 2 bar stools at each table. The lighting has been lowered to give the dining room better ambiance. We are now using glassware for drinks!
This area is open for lunch service Monday - Friday from 11:00am – 3:00pm. Last call will be at 4:00pm. The Lodge closes at 4:30pm per Governor Ducey’s guidelines. Currently all bars are closed. Restaurants that serve food may serve alcoholic beverages. CHANGE TO DINING ROOM HOURS: Effective September 2, the Lodge will remain open until 8:30pm on Wednesday and Friday evenings only. Dinner will be served from 4:00-7:00pm (sorry no dancing), last call for drinks will be at 8:00pm. Dinner menu ill consist of the current lunch menu wth 1 diner special as well as broasted chicken offered. Please come out and support your Lodge! We are doing our best to make this a safe environment for all our members. Sunday breakfast is served from 9:00am - 12:00 pm beginning August 2, 2020. TheLodge will close at 1:30pm.
Please, wear a CLOTH mask when entering or leaving the Lodge and when not seated at a table. Plastic shields are not acceptable covering unless a cloth mask is worn underneath. Cloth masks are required by Maricopa County and the City of Peoria guidelines.
Elker Helpers will be provided as servers for all meals served. They will have strict safety guidelines to follow. All volunteers and employees will have their temperature checked upon arrival and will wear masks. Safety measures have been put in place. Plexiglass is installed at the greeter’s desk, the cashier’s station and the bar. We will have hand sanitizer stations throughout the Lodge and everyone is encouraged to use them.
You are required to have a current membership card (2020-2021) to enter the Lodge. Entrance will be restricted to Elk members, spouses, and widows in good standing only. (Each must have their own card). One guest will be allowed per member. Sorry, spouses and widows cannot sign in a guest.
All weekly evening meals served in the dining room or lounge (except Wednesday & Friday) are cancelled until further notice. Thursday night Bingo is cancelled. Karaoke is cancelled. While we had hoped to bring back Lounge Bingo and the Queen of Hearts, it has been decided to postpone both until further notice. We will continue to monitor the situation and hope to bring back Lounge Bingo and the Queen of Hearts as soon as possible. The House Committee is currently working on a plan to bring back Lounge Bingo in a few weeks! It will be held in the dining room on Thursday afternoons: however, time and details are still being discussed. Checkhere for updates
At this time, the board of Trustees have decided to NOT loan our Lodge tables and chairs for the health an safety of our members due to Covid-19. Thank you for your understanding in this matter.!
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!! Lorraine Gentile is looking for Elk members to volunteer as greeters. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic fears, we have understandably lost a few volunteers. If interested, contact Lorraine at 602-430-9645.
While I wish we could have everything back to normal, these precautions are being taken for the health and safety of our members. You, our members are our top priority. I will continue to update this article as we move forward. Please check back regularly for any new information. Check the online calendar for more dates & times of meetings & events.
