Veterans. Royal Care of Avon Park Rehabilitation & Nursing Center held the annual luncheon for their volunteers on Monday. It was a very, very special day for Bert and Evelyn Marple. The Mayor of Avon Park, Sharon Schuler, was in attendance and presented the Marples a plaque with the following inscription. " Mayor's Award in Recognition of your Compassion and Service to the Veterans throughout our community; "The City of Avon Park recognizes Charles and Evelyn Marple as Volunteers of the Year 2013-2014." What a prestigious award to receive! Bert and Evelyn you are certainly deserving of this recognition - we are all so proud of you.



Bert Marple named "Veteran of the Year" by the Highland's Veterans Council. Council President Rick Ingler presented the award to Bert.



Sebring Elks 1529 has chose Bob and Carolyn Love as February Elk of the Month & Spouse. Their dedicated work in the dining and kitchen are most appreciated

Sebring Elks 1529 hosted a Veterans Christmas Luncheon on Thursday, December 20, 2012. The event was attended by 30 Veterans from six of the local Veterans Homes. After a delicious meal Santa passed out presents to everyone. Pictured are Chairpersons Bert and Evelyn Marple along with Veterans Herb Richardson and Raymond Hernandez of Crowne Pointe. Avon Park HS Show Choir sang for our annual Memorial Sunday service on Dec. 2nd.

Sebring Elks #1529 enjoyed participating in the 2012 Sebring Christmas Parade. The Elks donate $5,000,000.00 annually to Charities. Drug Awareness is one of the major projects for the Elks and members walked the parade route handing out drug awareness information and candy.



Sebring Elks 1529 proudly names Newt Dickey as December Elk of the Month.Newt does outstanding work in talks of encouraging volunteers and innovating ways to recruit and retain members. Congratulate Newt the next time you see him.

Sebring Elks #1529 with the help of the Sunday & Monday night bingo players, donated enough food to give to 7 needy families at Thanksgiving. Pictured here are Claude Howerton, Exalted Ruler and Ronna Mason, Leading Knight as they prepare to deliver to some of the families.

Sebring Elks 1529 has chosen Shirley & Ray LaCount Elk Spouse of the Month for November. Shirley has served as a hostess, and is calm and efficient when dinners are served on Friday nights.When you see Shirley with her welcoming smile at the Friday Buffet and Ray with his white apron manning the soup and steam tables cheerfully helping diners, congratulate them for their many years of service to our lodge.

Sebring Elks #1529 had a great Halloween Party at the Lodge on Wed.. Oct. 31st. Pictured here are the first place winners of the night: “Queen of Hearts” – Sue Wade & “Mad Hatter” – John Wade. Sue made both costumes.



Lois Kloet is known for high heels - especially the red ones! She celebrated her birthday last week at Wacky Wednesday along with husband John.

Sebring Elks #1529 is a great place for members to celebrate birthdays with friends. Pictured here is Jim Hutchison & wife Helen, dancing to the music of Allen Warchak on his 97th birthday. On this special night, there were 96 people there to wish him Happy Birthday!
